What is Going On?
P3 Baseball and Softball at Pier 40 is facing a critical threat. The Hudson River Park Trust (HRPT) has notified P3 that its indoor field permit will be terminated on July 15, 2025, forcing the organization to vacate the premises. This decision, stemming from a communication breakdown regarding a planned improvement project, jeopardizes the future of youth baseball and softball in Lower Manhattan.
Losing P3's indoor fields would be devastating, impacting thousands of families and players involved in leagues like GVLL and DLL, as well as after-school programs, camps, and Stuyvesant High School's teams. These facilities aren't just about sports; they're a vital community hub, providing a safe and supportive space for kids to develop skills, build friendships, and participate in the sports we love.
The improvements at P3 never posed a safety risk. The work occurred in an inaccessible area, and was done by professionals behind locked doors during non-program hours. After work had already begun, HRPT informed P3 that communications about the improvement was inadequate and that work had to stop. As a result, P3 is at risk of losing the permit for the indoor fields and we need your urgent support to fight this termination.

The community must be heard!
